1. Alcohol wipes x4:
Alcohol wipes are a convenient and effective way to sanitize your hands when soap and water are not readily available before you touch your pet's wound. Open the alcohol wipe packet and remove the wipe. Rub the wipe over your hands, making sure to cover all areas, including between your fingers and under your nails. Allow your hands to air dry.
2. Gloves x 1 pair:
Put on gloves to avoid direct contact with your pet's wound.
3. Pods of saline x 2:
This is to effectively cleanse your pet's eyes and other areas by gently washing away dirt and debris. Simply apply the saline solution to the affected area and wipe away any excess fluid. This is a safe and effective way to keep your pet's eyes and other sensitive areas clean and free from irritants.
4. Pods of Chlorhexidine x 2:
Chlorhexidine is a commonly used antiseptic solution for pet wound care. Apply the solution to the wound with gauze or a cotton ball, making sure to cover the entire wound.
5. Cotton buds with Betadine x5:
Cotton buds with Betadine are a convenient and effective way to apply an antiseptic solution to small areas, such as wound edges or skin lesions. Break the marked tip of the cotton buds and Betadine will drain onto the tip, gently apply the betadine solution to the affected area using the cotton tip.
6. Gauze x 5:
Gauze is a common and effective material for wound care in pets. To use gauze for wound care, first clean and disinfect the affected area. Then, place the gauze over the wound and wrap it with a bandage to hold it in place. It can also be used to clean up fluid or after saline use.
7. Primapore (6cm x7 cm) x 1, (10cm x 6cm) x 1:
Primapore is a sterile, absorbent dressing with a low-adherent wound contact layer, suitable for use on a variety of wounds in pets. To use Primapore for wound care, first clean and dry the affected area. Apply an appropriate dressing size of Primapore to cover the wound, making sure to overlap with healthy skin. Hair may cause the dressing to not stick properly, so Vetwrap bandage or Micropore tape can be used to secure the dressing in place.
8. Vetwrap Bandage (4.5cm x 5cm) x1:
Vetwrap bandage is a self-adherent bandage that sticks to itself, not the skin or fur. It is a versatile and easy-to-use bandage for pets. To use Vetwrap bandage, first clean and dry the affected area. Start at the bottom of the area and wrap the bandage, overlapping each layer in half. Be sure to keep the wrap snug, but not too tight.
9. Micropore Tape x 1:
Micropore tape is a gentle, hypoallergenic tape that can be used for securing wound dressings or holding bandages in place on pets. To use micropore tape, first clean and dry the affected area. Cut a length of tape that is slightly longer than the dressing. Place the tape over the dressing and press down gently to secure it in place. Avoid pulling the skin too tightly.
10. Scissors x 1:
Use the scissors to cut bandages or dressings to the appropriate size. Use caution when cutting near your pet's skin to avoid accidental injury.
